Small Bites, Big Tradition

OUR STORY

At Ho's Dim Sim, food has always been about connection. For over 40 years, we have crafted authentic dim sum in Sydney so families, friends and communities can share the joy of yum cha at their own tables.

1984

A Humble Beginning

Our story began in 1984 with a small shop in Ultimo. Four years later, we moved to Pitt Street in Haymarket, where Ho's Dim Sim quickly became a favourite for handmade dumplings, buns and traditional Cantonese pastries.
1988

A Gathering Place for the Community

For decades, the Pitt Street shop brought people together. Families looking for a taste of home, students discovering new flavours and locals from all walks of life stopped by for their favourite treats. Many grew up with us, returning year after year and bringing the next generation along.
1995

Growing With Demand

As demand increased, we established our Marrickville facility in 1995. Led by Jason, who trained in Guangzhou, the birthplace of Cantonese cuisine, our team brought decades of hands-on craft to a larger production kitchen while staying true to traditional methods.

Trusted Across Australia

Today, Ho's Dim Sim supplies families, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels and hospitality partners across the country. Whether served in a commercial kitchen or steamed at home, our products always reflect the same quality and care we began with in 1984.

Jason Yu has been hand-making dim sum for more than 30 years, honing his skills in dim sum houses in his native Guangzhou

The old Ho's Kitchen could have been shipped over from a Hong Kong back alley...No matter, because the dumpling quality remains untouched

We are here for a pack of char siu pao, the doughy buns full of barbecued pork to which one member of the family is addicted (guess who).
